The Hungarian Economic Society will organise the 60th Itinerant Conference of Economists on 22-23 September 2022 at the József Attila Study and Information Centre of the University of Szeged.

This year’s two-day conference will start with the opening plenary session on Thursday, 22 September at 10 am. On Thursday afternoon from 14:00 and Friday morning from 09:00, the session programmes will take place in parallel in four rooms on the following broad themes: I. Macroeconomics and Public Finance; II. Financial and Capital Markets; III. Corporate Competitiveness and Innovation; IV. Human Capital and European Integration (split). The closing plenary session will take place on Friday 23 September from 14:00.

In addition to the four on-site comprehensive sessions, we plan to enrich the conference programme with a number of round tables and presentations: as last year and the year before, these sessions will be recorded in late August and early September and made available on the website at the beginning of the conference.

We hope that the largest annual conference of the Hungarian economics profession will again be attended by György Matolcsy, Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, and Mihály Varga, Minister of Finance, and will be attended by leading managers from companies, banks, financial institutions and the top management of the Hungarian business community.

The preparation of the detailed programme of the meeting and the invitation of speakers has started, and the draft programme will be available soon on
